On Monday, Jan. 27, State Police issued an alert that they were having 911 problems throughout the state, mostly among Comcast customers.
Residents who couldn’t get through to 911 were forced to call the non-emergency line for the troop they reside in. An emergency robocall and text message alert were also issued by police as a precaution.
It is unclear what the problem was.
Troopers were in cooperation with carriers for hours to correct the issues. The sporadic system outages issue was declared under control shortly before 5 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28.
